Frequently Asked Questions

  • What do you usually paint with?
I paint with acrylic generally. Sometimes on wood panels and sometimes on canvas. I like the variety for now just for the different feel I get. I also would use acrylic like watercolor sometimes, and then mix it with watercolor on watercolor paper.
  • How long have you been painting?
I took an acrylic painting class way back when I was in a community college studying for graphic design. It was one of the foundation classes and I remember really liking it. Then when I got transferred to California College of the Arts (at the time it was known as California College of Arts and Crafts) I got into watercolor a bit in another foundation class. I hadn't painted too much since then but always enjoyed painting tiny things on greeting cards for friends and family. Didn't pick up painting more seriously again until 2021.
  • You mentioned you are working still. Do you paint a lot?
I am starting to paint more. I am committed to a thoughtful, long-term approach to a career transition. I am gradually increasing my involvement each year, allowing me to learn and build a solid foundation not only in painting but also in the art business.
  • How do you price your paintings?
I have done some research and decided to price them by square inch, then add on some material costs. I keep my material costs separate because I am not sure they would increase at the same rate so to keep it fair.
  • Do you do commision?
Yes, ocassionally because of bandwidth It would be great if the subject matter also aligns with my inspiration. I'm always happy to talk. In the past I had done many commissioned miniature pieces that brought me and my clients much joy, so that makes me feel good actually.
