I also carry greeting cards in my studio space in Alameda Artworks; however, that studio is closed to public usually except during Silicon Valley Open Studio days, or any special events like Holidays Sales

I have seen a few artists in the Bay Area who paint wonderful redwoods painting. As for me, you can certainly come view any of my work in Portola Art Gallery, or see my work in an exhibit I participate in, or schedule a time with me in my studio.

I took an acrylic painting class way back when I was in a community college studying for graphic design. It was one of the foundation classes and I remember really liking it. Then when I got transferred to California College of the Arts (at the time it was known as California College of Arts and Crafts) I got into watercolor a bit in another foundation class. I hadn't painted too much since then but always enjoyed painting tiny things on greeting cards for friends and family. Didn't pick up painting more seriously again until 2021. Took a few years to experiment, and finally entered the professional scene at the beginning of 2024.

I am starting to paint more. I am committed to a thoughtful, long-term approach to a career transition. I am gradually increasing my involvement each year, allowing me to learn and build a solid foundation not only in painting but also in the art business. Currently, I actively participate in local art exhibits, art fairs/festival and open studio.

I paint with acrylic generally. Sometimes on wood panels and sometimes on canvas. I like the variety for now just for the different feel I get. I also would use acrylic like watercolor sometimes, and then mix it with watercolor on watercolor paper.

I have done some research and decided to price them basically by square inch first, then add on some material costs. Each year it increases a small amount. The square inch method is not completely linear though so it's adjusted to be slightly lower as the painting scale up. I keep my material costs separate when I calculate my pricing because I am not sure they would increase at the same rate so to keep it fair.

Depends and occassionally -- because of bandwidth. It would be great if the subject matter also aligns with my inspiration. I'm always happy to talk. Right now, I'm working on a commissioned work for San Mateo County Parks Foundation for their upcoming Sam McDonald Park poster.
