I paint what reminds me of peace and hope. My work is intended to be a visual sanctuary--a quiet reminder of the goodness that surrounds us.
To me, light is hope and colors are feelings. So maybe the tree trunks are redder, the colors warmer, and the light filters through gently and consistently, like how hope comes through in my life. It’s not intrusive, always present, generously and quietly reminding me that better days—or perhaps even just better moments—are there when we choose to notice.

I’m excited to share the final Sam McDonald Park poster! This year, I was awarded a juried commission by the San Mateo County Parks Foundation to create its official artwork. The poster is part of an ongoing program that invites local artists to capture and celebrate San Mateo County’s parks. All proceeds from the park posters sold via the San Mateo County Parks Foundation Store directly benefit the San Mateo County Parks Foundation. The poster will be available on their site for purchase as part of their permanent collection.
Creating this poster took me from the jurying process through research and visits to the park. I’m grateful for the opportunity to share my art with a wider audience and to honor Sam McDonald’s legacy. I hope the poster encourages families to gather, reflect, and find sanctuary in the park. This little 4" × 6" painting will be part of the Postcard Exhibit at Pacific Art League. There will be tons of artwork in all kinds of media, all the same size. I can’t wait to see it. It sounds so fun!
The piece is based on a photo I took of my gallery mate and friend when we went painting en plein air last year. I remember how glorious the light looked coming through the ravine, and how beautiful she looked gazing out into it.

I’m thrilled to be the featured September artist at the Portola Art Gallery! My work will be on display throughout the entire month of September, but I’d love for you to join me for a special reception on Saturday, September 12, from 1- 4 PM.
It’ll be a fun afternoon where you can see my most recent work, enjoy light refreshments, and meet other artists showcased in the gallery. I am especially excited to more plein art work, and small 6" x 6" studies—perfect as thoughtful gifts or accent pieces for cozy wall spaces in your home.
